Downton Abbey tribute video

I love this montage video for Downton Abbey created by Emily Roberts !

For those who haven't yet seen Downton Abbey there may be some spoilers.
For those of us who've seen it, it may make us even more sentimental for its return!

Gentlemen To Bed! - amusing video

Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan discussing
the hearty role of a gentleman in costume dramas,
...all in jest of course.
(shown on left in Cock and Bull Story)

Taken from part of their series The Trip on BBC2.

At Home with the Georgians

BBC: "In this three part series, historian Amanda Vickery explores how the great British obsession with our homes began 300 years ago. Using the intimate diaries and letters of Georgian men and women, previously lost to history, she explores how the desire for a home revolutionised relationships between men and women.

She uncovers some surprising truths about the lives of spinsters and bachelors, about how the home became crucial to the success or otherwise of a marriage, and perhaps the biggest surprise of all - that setting up home in the 18th century was not driven by women as you might expect, but by men."

Watch Cast Reunion of THE SOUND OF MUSIC

It was wonderful to see all the cast members from the much beloved film THE SOUND OF MUSIC reunite and share stories about the movie that is still growing strong after 45 years! Here are some images from their appearance on Oprah's talk show as well as video from Youtube...(which will probably be removed soon so watch while you can!)

The King's Speech - TRAILERS

Here are multiple trailers for THE KING'S SPEECH! Colin Firth has already received Oscar buzz for this performance and personally I can't wait to see Geoffrey Rush as his speech therapist! (Update: I've seen the film and loved it!)

I've added different trailers as I've found them.

The Laendler - Period Drama Dancing Montage

Just came across this lovely video!!

Created by Miss Aspka who describes it in the following way:

This video is a tribute to my favourite movie, Rodgers & Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music". It features the song "The Laendler" against a backdrop of romantic period movie dancing scenes.

I wanted to tell the story of that defining moment where, through the magic of dance and music, the two people suddenly "realise" their true feelings for one another.

In order of movie appearance:

- Becoming Jane
- Emma (BBC 2009)
- The Sound of Music
- Anne of Green Gables (The Sequel)
- The Young Victoria
- Pride & Prejudice (2005)
- Stardust
- Anne of Green Gables
- Onegin
- The King & I
- Pride & Prejudice (BBC 1995)
- Daniel Deronda
- North & South
- Sense & Sensibility (1995)
- Emma (1996)

Brontë Sisters Power Dolls

I came across this video a week ago, thought I'd post it here for those who haven't seen it yet and might appreciate the humour.

Made by Phil Lord and Chris Miller
"This was a fake commercial we made in 1998 for a series of educational shorts about action figures based on historical figures. Its educational value was somewhat suspect. It was never aired."
...until now where it's making waves among Bronte fans! :)

Wonder what Charlotte, Emily and Anne would think?

Thornton vs. Darcy fanvid - by videosbyloo

Apparently, the creator of this video has a hard time deciding who is more swoon-worthy - Matthew Macfadyen's Darcy or Richard Armitage's Thornton? Can anyone blame her??! I thought her song choice of L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole made it all the more fun!
Thanks Luciana for sharing this video with us!!

What do you think? Who would you choose? COULD you choose?!

Dark Passion - alternate universe video

I don't normally watch 'alternate universe' videos but the fact that veryval combined two of my very favourite dramas, I just had to watch! Seeing Emily Blunt (The Young Victoria) and Richard Armitage (North & South) paired up had me captivated :)

Dark Passion
Storyline explained by veryval:

Many years ago John (A successful cotton mill owner) and Victoria (daughter of a nobleman) were close friends before Victoria and her family left London to settle elsewhere.
During this time a riot broke out at the mill and Margaret , the daughter of a friend of John`s family, saves his life .
He realizes that Margaret is in love with him and after some persuasion from his mother is convinced that the honourable thing to do would be to marry her.
Victoria soon returns to London . John and she both realize that they have feelings for each other but John is already married and Victoria is to be engaged to Albert - a wealthy young Duke.....
(There is no definite ending because I wanted to give it that movie trailer feel ;)

Becoming Jane - fanvid

Here's a video that I just came across which made me smile!
...and now I'm in the mood to rewatch 'Becoming Jane'!

Thanks to JaimeR90 for creating the video!

Too Late to Apologize - Founding Fathers

One Republic had a hit song with 'Apologize'. Soomo Publishing has adapted the lyrics to make it an anthem from the American Founding Fathers to "facilitate learning in creative, innovative ways." I thought it was cleverly done. Only thing that would have improved it in my opinion, would be for Stephen Dillane (John Adams) to have reprised his role as Jefferson! I was impressed with the singing voice of the fellow who did portray Jefferson in the video!

1776 Fan Video

Found this video which made me laugh!

I knew that Blythe Danner was in an older movie adaptation about the American founding fathers but I didn't know it was a musical. That makes sense now when I watched this video with clips of 1776 as to why William Daniels (John Adams) and members of Congress are strutting their stuff to Beyonce's song 'Single Ladies' !

Thanks to eowynssword42 for making it!
