    how about two wonderful films - 'Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day' and "Mrs Henderson Presents", both WW2? they definitely deserve to be on this list.

    Thanks for your comment Olga! It did take a while to compile this list and even with the many films I found, I didn't include every one. I typically only list the ones that I've seen myself or know to be suitable for most audiences. I'm stepping down from the blog at the end of this month since I've found it to be too time consuming to try and track ALL the period films out there but happy to hear you enjoyed those films!
