William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were the guests of honour at 'BAFTA Brits to Watch' on Saturday, July 9th, held at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles. BAFTA's chairman Tim Corrie explained how the dinner “is about introducing young, real, talented writers, directors and actors to some of their Hollywood heroes.” and how it wouldn't have been possible without the presence of Prince William who is the President of BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts).

I am very disappointed to see that the actresses Holly Grainger, Jessica Barden & Andrea Riseborough weren't invited. It seems that BAFTA prefers to spotlight actresses who hail from the south of England.

ReplyDeleteI wonder how BAFTA made their selection. I've not heard of Jessica but perhaps they didn't choose Holly or Andrea since their careers are already more established?
