  2. My favourite period is 1680-1760, preferably in the New World. French & Indian War period movies are good, but not many of them. The Last of The Mohicans is good, they did make "some" effort at authenticity, but could have done a lot more.

  3. I love any period piece if it is done well, particularly if it is historically accurate. The Madness of King George was very enjoyable particularly because of the role of George's Queen played by Helen Mirren. The story really personalized some little known facts about such an (in)famous king.
Also I loved Amazing Grace. Such an inspiring story! Too many others to mention, but those two really stood out for me.

It's neat that you have such a definitive idea of which era you prefer. My next post will be on the Baroque era!

  7. My number one among these films is Amazing Grace, maybe not the best movie but the one with the strongest message. Then my second favourite is Amadeus. Unforgettable!
But, you know, when you ask me to choose among so many great costume films, you give me a very hard task!

  8. I think Barry Lyndon is one of the most beautiful films ever produced. It takes place in the 18th century.
