Jessica Brown-Findlay in an interview, chats about filming the first season: "The scope of the story is so exciting and is set in such an amazing point in history. Their problems and their fears, and the things that bring them joy are exactly the same as those we have today. Here are 3 promo videos for Australian television. I'm excited for those who will be able to experience life with the Crawleys and the Dowager Countess! I do wish thought that they wouldn't market it as scandalous or "raunchy" as I don't think that's a fair description. While viewers should be forewarned that this isn't your typical period drama, I found it to be an excellent drama!
Love Downton Abbey. You are right, although there are scandalous parts, it is not allll scandalous, and I wouldn't call any of it 'raunchy'. (silly girl who said that and producers who put it in the ad)
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty interesting.
ReplyDeleteBtw in case anyone's interested, ep1 img 6 here: http://www.primetv.co.nz/Default.aspx?tabid=334&art_id=5926 the necklace she's wearing can be found on ebay.com It's called "BLACK BEADED GRAND VICTORIAN CHOKER NECKLACE HIGH NECK"

ReplyDeleteI love that necklace and would love to see more of the Edwardian fashion come back into style.
I live in Australia and a few of the 'raunchy' promos did put me off. I only started watching after a friend recommended it. Though i think to some extent those awful ads worked, its been really successful.

ReplyDeleteThe series has been so successful in Britain and in North America so I don't see why Seven had to emphasize the racier parts of the plot. Glad that it's been a smash in Australia as well!
