Jane Eyre (2011) - 2 new film clips

Focus Features has released 2 film clips from Jane Eyre, due in cinemas on March 11th, 2011 starring Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender.

The first clip shows an oh-so-tender moment between Jane and Rochester. I'm surprised that the producers are revealing that scene to us already! The second clip features Jane with the Rivers family.

  1. Yay! I love it! hehe! :)
I'm surprised they chose these clips as well, but they probably figure most people already know the story and they want to show small snippets. Notice how they've released quite a few photos of Sinjon and his sisters? And there aren't very many photos from Gateshead or Lowood. And there's nothing about Adele yet, at least not that I've seen.
Thanks so much for posting these! I just did a post on Jane Eyre today and am re-reading the book. I don't know why I'm getting so excited about this adaptation. It must be my chronic Period Drama Disease flaring up again! ;)

  3. Second clip - fine. Looks good! :) (And fans of Richard Armitage will note how one of the Rivers sisters is Meg from Robin Hood s3 and the younger sister in Sparkhouse!)

First clip - Maybe when it's in context, i.e. with the rest of the movie, it'll work better. Now, it's just a bit strange. They get too close to kissing and they give up too easily in the end. I mean, he holds her hand and won't let go in the book, and while she doesn't want to leave, she has to say she thinks she can hear Mrs. Fairfax's footsteps in order for him to release her. I think it's done better in '06. At least it just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, not like I want to yell "OH GET ON WITH IT! JUST KISS HER ALREADY!" A bit like, ohh, "Persuasion" 2007? :/

Arg...but they will never be able to replace the St John from the older one!
