Twitter Party for Downton Abbey

Any plans for the next 4 Sunday evenings? Here's an invitation for Canadians and Americans to travel back to Edwardian times and visit the magnificent estate of Downton Abbey! (Yes, it's the series that I've blogged about endlessly but now that it's making its debut on this side of the pond, I'm thrilled to revisit the Crawley family and their endearing staff below stairs.)

Celebrate the launch of PBS Masterpiece's 40th season during a live Twitter event beginning Sunday, January 9, 2011, during the American broadcast premiere of Downton Abbey (available for Canadians who watch PBS!).

You're welcomed whenever you're watching, but from 9-10:30pm Eastern time, PBS and Masterpiece insiders — as well as moderators from Austenprose, Edwardian Promenade, and yours truly — will be tweeting too.

Tag your posts with the hashtag #DowntonPBS and then visit us on TweetGrid, or use your own favorite aggregator.

  3. found it, but it's not on til 12 here. i'll follow on twitter for a bit anyway :) don't want to miss it :)thanks cheryl :)

  4. Thank goodness they showed it again later on another channel or I would have missed it!
It was wonderful. I'll see if I can get in on the Twittering thing next week.

  5. I don't do twitter (Does that make me a Twit?!? LOL) but I did watch DA last night! It was wonderful and I look forward to the next episodes.
Love the sets and costumes and the cast is perfect imo!

  6. phylly and tyme_4_t,
I am actually pleased when I hear that someone watched it without being on Twitter! I think it's too good a drama to be distracted by anything else. I had fun at the Twitter party but I had already seen it and a good thing too since I only watched maybe 5 minutes due to trying to moderate all the tweets!

  7. I too didn't twitter, but enjoyed every moment. Can't wait for next week. Thanks Charleybrown for making us all aware of this great tv!
