"It's all Relative" update - Ioan and Alice

Just watched The Abduction Club this past week and surprised to learn that Alice Evans who stars as Catherine Kennedy, is married to actor Ioan Gruffudd.
Ioan
has been seen in several period dramas: Horatio Hornblower, Secret of Moonacre, Amazing Grace, King Arthur, and Forsyte Saga.

They married in 2007 and have a daughter Ella.

  1. Love him! I was a devoted watcher of Horatio Hornblower. Then I saw him in the updated Forstythe Saga. Absolutely adored his performance in Amazing Grace!
I'm not familiar with his wife's acting though.

  2. Ooh, I've never heard of the Abduction Club. Was it good?

  3. Here's another relationship I just discovered - Robert Glenister (Captain Harville in Persuasion) and Phillip Glenister (Mr. Carter in Cranford) are brothers.

  4. I. Love. Ioan. I finally was able to see "Secret of Moonacre." Not bad. I'd still love to see him try Henry Tilney in "Persuasion." (Though I did love JJ Feild as Henry!)

I'd known about his marriage. Didn't they meet on the set of 102 Dalmations? Another character of his that I love. Oh, and Fantastic Four? Yep. He makes Mr. Reed for me. Horatio Hornblower? No need for that reminder!

But the BEST ever: William Wilberforce in Amazing Grace!

  6. @ Phylly,
I've not seen Horatio, another one on long list of TBW!

    @ Elizabeth Kerri,
It didn't blow me away but charming little movie and not scandalous like I initially presumed it would be :)

    @ Elizabeth,
Yes, I knew they were brothers and will try to update list eventually! Sigh, if only this was my full time job...and even then I doubt I could keep up with all the period drama tidbits!

    @ ldsjaneite,
Yes I believe that I read that they met on 101 Dalmations. I started watching Secret of Moonacre but got sidetracked, was hoping it would have held my attention. And yes, loved Amazing Grace! Inspiring!

    @ Peri,
I DIDN'T KNOW! Sorry! Besides, I don't usually list their film credits other than in period dramas so I guess I should be forgiven?
