David Tennant in 'He Knew He Was Right'

Some of us who've seen Trollope's He Knew He Was Right find the main storyline between Louis and his wife Emily to be a bit tiresome. A misunderstanding leads to extreme jealousy and tears apart the previously happily married couple. I found myself rolling my eyes in frustration. Really! Get over it Louie!
I preferred the sideplots of the other characters,
~ Emily's sister Nora, played by Christina Cole (one of her roles where she isn't the vixen/villain) and her romantic interest played by Stephen Campbell Moore.
~ Dorothy's romance with Brooke (played by the charming Matthew Goode)
~ and the humorous antics of the eligible Rev. Gibson (played by David Tennant) as he tries to ward off the various women who are trying to claim him as their own!

A great cast with many familiar faces, here's a scene with David:

  1. Now, where is that handy sonic screwdriver? You would think it should be able to help him out of this embarrassing entanglement somehow...at the least fix his hair :)- I've added this to my instant Netflix queue. Thanks for the recommend!

    I just love your website! Thank you so much for all of your hard work.

  2. This film killed me though! I just wanted everyone to calm down for a second and discuss what was going on. *sigh* I have to say that it really had me riled up by the time it was all over.

  3. @stephanie,
    Glad to hear you've added it to netflix but beware that it can be a bit tedious in parts.
    Thanks for the compliment! I love sharing period drama news with other enthusiasts!

    @Becky,
    I know what you mean. I'm used to all the dramas that have happy resolutions for the protagonists.
