On the 200th anniversary of his birth, this biographical film sets out to portray Charles Darwin and his controversial theories on evolution, showing how he was torn between his work and his wife's religious convictions. (played by real-life husband and wife Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly)
Based on Randal Keynes' biography of Darwin titled Annie's Box.
Creation is set to premiere at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) on Sept. 10/2009
BBC is one of the co-producers but no word yet on when it will air
They have a neat site set up for the film: Official movie site
I liked hearing actor Jim Carter talk about how it was beneficial having a real couple portray Mr. and Mrs. Darwin..."well, Paul's very funny and Jennifer finds him funny and that's nice..."
as daughter Annie
I'm curious to see this and I do hope that the extremist views that have divided Christians and scientists in the past doesn't get reignited, acknowledging that faith and science are able to complement, not contradict each other.
