end was just mentioning last week how we were surprised that Disney hadn't yet made a movie about Rapunzel and voilà! The story is based on the classic German fairy tale Rapunzel by the Brothers Grimm and the movie’s visual style is being based on French Rococo artist Jean-Honore Fragonard’s painting “The Swing” shown on left.
I suppose this image will be changed since it's no longer being called Unbraided...(mta - new title is TANGLED)
This is one of those fairytales that I've forgotten how it unfolds, but I found this synopsis of the plot on wikipedia.
This film (originally "Rapunzel Unbraided") has been in production FOREVER. I hope it's not a train-wreck by the time it's finally released.

I didn't know that this was your favourite! It does seem to be overlooked by other fairytales! I'm not even sure of the plot just that there's a girl in the tower :)
