Jane Austen 'Regency World' Awards

The 2009 Jane Austen Regency World Awards were announced at a prestigious black tie event at Bath’s Hilton Hotel.

Colin Firth has been voted Best Ever Darcy - no surprise but glad to see him acknowledged as such! They mention how he bested veteran actor Laurence Olivier in this category but I was not impressed with Olivier to begin with...

"The BBC version, in which a shirt-soaked Firth emerges from a lake, is often regarded as one of the greatest television programmes of all-time and is credited as having been the trigger for the billion pound Austen industry that has flourished in recent years."

I presume greater details are coming since they haven't mentioned where Elliot Cowan is in the list but we know that Peter Cushing came in 7th. and Matthew Macfadyen fourth??
