There's a video of the seven children being interviewed in 1990, for the 25th anniversary of the film's release. I found the quality of the video to be choppy but perhaps that's just my computer.
And here's a video that discusses when the real Maria visited the set. Once I found out that Maria had a small scene in the movie, I have to watch for it every time! If you blink, you'll miss it!
