In pre-revolutionary Russia, a poor Jewish peasant must contend with marrying off his three daughters while antisemitic sentiment threatens his home.

This posting brings back memories - as a fan of Paul Michael Glaser in Starsky and Hutch back in the 1970s, I also loved this movie and have seen it several times over the years. Although I initially watched it for Glaser, I think Topol is superb in the lead role. Thanks for finding these pictures! Judy
ReplyDeleteI was going to say something about Glaser but thought it would seem more mature of me if I didn't admit he was part of the attraction of this film :)
ReplyDeleteI remember enjoying this as a younger girl and appreciating it more as I was older to learn the historical significance of the Revolution.
